This past weekend, Corvera Golf & Country Club had an exceptional guest, the recognised English golfer, Tommy Horton due to the pre-inauguration of Corvera Golf Course, situated in Corvera, Murcia. Tommy Horton was called up in 1975, to play in the in the Ryder Cup match and repeated feat two years later. Then in 1978 captained the PGA and was Chairman of the European Tour Committee. To date he has won 23 European Senior Events and has won the European Senior Order of Merit Trophy 5 times, winning 4 successive titles during three years. During the weekend he led a clinic for various groups (a total of approximately 100 amateur golfers), with the aim of improving the short game and punctuation. Students of the Federation of golf in the region of Murcia were between one of the groups, as well as some professionals from the region. Tommy Horton, is one of the most famous golfers teaching in Europe. He holds interesting, informative clinics and demonstrations as well as a wide repertoire of trick shots which never fails to amuse and bewilder clients. His classes always combine theory and practice of golf.
The groups were able to meet everyday at noon for lunch where they exchanged impressions of the provided classes. These recommendations, as we have seen, have been useful as well as fun, and all the clinic “students” were satisfied with the whole experience.
